I am currently teaching and taking a PhD at the University of Leeds. My PhD thesis is on David Hume, and I also have interests in the philosophy of language, English grammar, and descriptive metaphysics. Until it closed in September 2011, I was a research officer at the Leeds Electronic Text Centre (part time, alongside my PhD), where my work included web programming and database design for humanities research projects. Among our output is www.davidhume.org, a growing internet resource for all things Hume, including electronic editions of his philosophical works, many of which are edited by me. When the wind is behind me, I look a little like the picture on the right.
